But Trade Deficits do nothing to build our economy. I am 100% for Trump.
-
They don't harm the economy. Even with a trade deficit our exports have increased.pic.twitter.com/ylN4FOnTtv

If the deficit is proportionally larger than our exports, it is still a net export of overall cash from our economy which could be used to decrease our debt that we spend 40 cents of every tax dollar to pay interest.

Partially correct. Deficits with individual countries don't matter. What matters is whether you are overall a net producer, or a net consumer. The US spends more than it produces (i.e. trade deficits, all up). That's not prosperity.

It's incredible that people get confused about this sort of thing, when it's incredibly obvious with even mild thoughtfulness. Recommended reading to all: the 19th century classic "Protection or Free Trade", still relevant today: https://www.econlib.org/library/YPDBooks/George/grgPFT.html …

The budget deficit helps boost the trade deficit, not the other way around. Difference between domestic supply and demand for loanable funds drives trade deficit because that's how foreigners get $ to lend to us.http://thehill.com/opinion/international/394319-huge-trade-deficits-reflect-and-create-bigger-problems …

But these are engineered. Current trade is not free market. High tariffs one way, low tariffs another. Removing tariffs on both sides would be a better reflection of what consumers want.

And it doesn't help that we have corruption in our own government at the moment, which is an even bigger issue.

Same people that have never read constitution think trade deficits are like P/I's. When you are leader of the free world, it's in your best interest to facilitate trade for that world. Give & take. Unless it's with corrupt governments.. .which is the issue right now.

We aren’t worried or proud you or the Mooch get how the trade deficit and the national debt work.. we are worried the big, orange guy sitting in the Oval Office doesn’t get it. Then we are worried if he doesn’t that congress will or WON’T help keep him in check...

Strongly disagree here..running a trade deficit > next 19 countries combined (nearly) indicates gross negligence, not prosperity. Further, the top countries running a surplus seem to be doing quite well.

Please tell your GOP colleagues. They have seemed to have lost their way under Trump's mal-informed leadership.
