Even if the government convinces Di to bear some of the additional tax burden, or finds another way to raise revenue, if any portion of the $3 comes from Al, Bo, and Cy, they will pay more in taxes than they receive in services, thanks to the government's special break for Di.

But what if a company like Amazon is really struggling and couldn't survive without a massive tax break?

Would standard across the board tax be the answer. Everyone pay the same amount no matter of wealth or the lack off and quit subsidizing businesses. Wouldn’t this make everting a equal as we can. Although a lot of CPAs would have to find another job.

Thank you I stumbled across you and you explained that so well. I just wish most politicians in Washington and at the state level would get it. My city is always giving crazy tax breaks to bring Joe Blo here. And are property taxes pay. And it’s alway the same group making money.

It took you this long to get to the crux of the issue: the rule of law. In this nation, the law is supposed to treat everyone equally. Anyone who gets a tax break of any kind -- abatement, credit, deduction, etc. -- is not being treated equally under the law. It's that simple.

I may not agree with all of your policies but I appreciate and respect your honesty, dedication to your principles and your ability to explain policy to the average person. Great thread on tax policy.
