I'm not a Republican. But your defense of the Constitution in lieu of @POTUS recent tweets is encouraging.

This Justin fellow sounds like a good guy. Wish he were a Congressmember-- then he could do more than vague subtweeting to defend the rule of law!

How about you look at this from the liberation point of view. When do we start saying it is these illegals personal responsibility to know and follow our laws?
-
LOL lady. Do U believe while they're fleeing 4 their lives they have the resources 2 pull up our laws & learn them? Tell U what, fly 2 Saudi Arabia, leave your phone at home & do not research their laws prior 2 going. Let us know how that works out 4 U. Walk a mile in their shoes
-
Lived in Europe 8 yrs courtesy of Uncle Sam. I had to know laws in all countries I visited and there was no such thing as cell phones then. So, been there done that.

If they were fleeing Honduras, why didn't they seek refuge in Mexico?

This apply to American citizens ONLY
-
No, the text of the constitution says no person, not no citizen. The founding fathers knew exactly what they were saying when they wrote this. They use citizen and person at different times to refer to different categories.
-
All right, but the invaders can have life, liberty, property and due process in their own countries. To think that those can only exist in the US is to look down with contempt at those countries, and that's kind of... RAAAACIST and XENOPHOOOBIC, insn't it?
-
USA has sent these countries BILLIONS in aid We have sent people & modeled Democracy It's not up to us to tell them what to do & we can't take in every person in the entire world
-
The right to decide who may or may not enter is what it means to have borders. And having borders is what it means to BE A COUNTRY.. So the question is: do the US have the right to be a country?
-
With no borders, nation-states disappear and have to be replaced by a centralised world govt/set of global governance institutions, which can't be democratic, as they have no 'demos' (collective body of people with identity forged by common values/customs/memories of past deeds)
-
"No borders" means 'no democracy'.
-
You are so spot on! Thank you

THEN DO SOMETHING!!!!
-
Then vote for Libertarians and other liberty minded people. Justin is just one person in Congress, he can't do much by himself.
-
he can do more than tweet. that's my point.
-
For instance? Look at his voting record and all the legislation he tried to bring to Congress that is liberty minded, but leadership doesn't allow to be voted on. Short of switching his affiliation to the LP to make a statement, there isn't anything else he can do.
