But he's 5 or 6 weeks late
-
True. Better late than never.
-
No, I wasn’t late. I was among the first in Congress to speak out about this.https://twitter.com/justinamash/status/1000445387436683265?s=21 …

Thank you!

Here is Justin Amash, a major part of the principled, libertarian consciousness of today's Republican Party. Justin, hang in there. Help is on the way!

So principled that he only speaks up on Twitter. So brave. Not.
#ProfileInCourage -
Are you aware of his voting record? He writes a lengthy explanation of every vote on his FB page. He also probably has more town halls than any other House member. I think that you are misjudging him.
-
He does not write a lengthy explanation of every vote. I've checked. He does it for only about one of every ten votes

Don't recall your tweets when Obama detained twice as many kids. Congress passed the original law and it was upheld by the most liberal (9th) Circuit Court. Congress trying to pass the buck. "The best way to get a bad law repealed is to enforce it strictly." - Abraham Lincoln
-
That's because children/babies were not taken from parents en-masse as the trump policy does. The Obama administration did struggle with unaccompanied minors, there's no easy fix for immigration issues. The trump policy of separating families is indefensible, but please do go on.
-
It's the law, not a "policy". So am I to assume that you are for the alternative, which is to lock the kids up in an adult prison with their parents?
-
Crossing the border is a misdemeanor offense. The trump policy separating children is a policy choice. Defending this policy is just sick.
-
I'm the sick person? You are apparently in favor of incentivizing the cruel act of dragging small children across hundreds of miles of desert with the intent of committing a crime. If I tried that child protective services would be in my face in a heartbeat.
-
Fleeing violence to protect your family is a normal parental response. We don't need to do anything morally depraved like splitting up families, we can fix this without abandoning our morals.

Trump is a piece of shit who is doing this intentionally to try and force Congress to give him the immigration bill he wants with his wall funding. He doesn't care about us let alone immigrants.
-
Congress is the POS. Learn the law that was put in place by Slimey Bill, Wimpy George and backed by Barry Soetoro.
