Agree. I'm vaccinating my 15-yr-old daughter not bc I'm worried about her #COVID risk but rather to protect vulnerable, unvax'd ppl in our community = kids < 12, higher-risk adults, & ppl who haven't had the chance to get vax'd or who are still considering it.https://twitter.com/ebennett74/status/1399377570999717888 …

I continue to marvel at the cognitive dissonance of my fellow pediatricians who have convinced themselves that kids need an EUA vaccine—for a dz that is *very low-risk* for them—to get back to normal. When all vulnerable adults have had a chance for vax! 🤯 #tweetiatricians

A reminder: you have no obligation to create a risk-free life for others.

I mean a moral obligation, one might argue to create as low risk as possible an environment for all other humans.

That’s why I should be allowed to drive drunk. It’s a risk I am willing to take and the risks to others are irrelevant. 99% of drunk drivers don’t die before finishing driving. Why worry about it?

Who is claiming risk-free? What an ignorant take away. A reminder: reducing risk to self and others is an objectively beneficial good.

"Create a risk-free life" for someone else is an impossible standard anyway, so this is kind of meaningless. And legally, you often DO have an obligation to avoid putting others at risk. Never mind ethically or morally.
