Using a fossil fuel to decrease fossil fuel emissions? That makes no sense. Gas in Australia is dangerous, expensive and unnecessary. And if the climate solutions researcher doesn't convince you, maybe will.

. CEO Mark Mr Cutifani said the industry needed to ensure that mining is “climate-smart, with ideally no or little negative climate impact” This is one of your largest members talking, 👋

Mine workers have suspected it for years, but now - in an internal BHP investigation - proof. The mining giant has a mandate that puts coal production ahead of safety. Eight deaths in 18 months, across the QLD mining industry, followed

Hilarious. The claims it spends its revenue on mine safety competitions & community partnerships... It’s largest expense of course, is buried at the end: public policy advocacy.

The forces with a vested interest in fossil fuels are at least as powerful as those invested in Jim Crow. To imagine they’ll meekly give in without a similar fight is so utopian as to be wilfully delusional.

Matt Canavan is being interviewed by Andrew Bolt on Sky. Confirms his resignation, praises McCormack. Says nothing has changed, there are "still people who don't want to have coal-fired power stations".

So courtesy of Clive Palmer's $90m spending to keep Labor out of power -- the biggest political spending in Australian history -- fossil fuel donors totally dominated the 2019 election. Pretty apt given how the year ended.

By my calcs, 60% of revenue came from companies with coal mines. Jumps up to ~63% if you include coal mining services.

. said "the Victorian government’s ban was made solely for political considerations and has no scientific basis" You have to laugh at the gas lobby talking about science while it regularly ignores the science of climate change... 🤦‍♂️
