Crowd-sourcing a conscience in all the wrong ways:
-The @nytimes asks unpaid readers to undertake the labor of critical self-analysis.
- With no Public Editor since June, their @ReaderCenter will have journalists "address" the paper’s editorial decisions.https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/23/reader-center/austin-bombings-coverage.html …

Cops shot an unarmed black man 8 times in his grandmother's backyard, let him die, and then tried to cover it up.
#StephonClark was MURDERED by police, but here's how the@nytimes' headline presents this injustice: (h/t to@BrentNYT for the photo and calling out his employer)pic.twitter.com/789Flb7sXt

Another day, another instance of the
@nytimes running PR for a police department that murdered an unarmed black man. This time with mind-reading powers. h/t@adamjohnsonNYCpic.twitter.com/Y881dUpyrn

90% white and 70% male: the
@nytimes political reporting team is anything but diverse. Racially-biased coverage is a symptom of the lack of minority representation throughout America’s newsrooms. It’s time to decolonize the Forth Estate.#NotMyNews http://www.niemanlab.org/2018/05/many-major-newsrooms-champions-of-transparency-in-other-cases-remain-tight-lipped-about-their-newsroom-diversity/ …pic.twitter.com/5v8KPo0TCZ

Amazing! I bet they'll argue that it's different writers but then in regards to bloggers they'll says they're superior because they have editors who supposedly out a check on racism.

Thank you for two screenshots that say it all. To add to the racial stereotyping, Austin cops thought first 2 bombs were drug related because victims were black. Sad world.
-
I know APD floated the idea about the first bombing, but after the second one I didn’t hear they considered that one drug related. By then I was seeing maybe related violence because of shared church or serial attacks using bike trails
