Several readers have pointed out that @PauletteEJordan is running for governor in Idaho. We spoke at length last month while I was researching this piece — she's running as a progressive Dem in a red state and calling on voters to help her "fight to win this state back.”
Reader: "All people of all races, creeds, religions, genders etc. should be encouraged to run. What we don't need is some advocacy group coming out and saying that since Native Americans make of x % of the population there should be a quota of x % Native Americans in Congress."
Reader: "Finally, the Native American communities are getting a voice...through their own determination and hard work, certainly not by anything 'given' to them. But then, it's only been what, about 550 years or so since their world was accosted...what's their rush, right?"
