Why? Counties have to count early mail-in ballots, in-person early voting ballots, in-person election-day ballots and ballots sent through the mail as late as last night.

Heads up if you're watching the Utah CD-4 Love-McAdams race. I spoke with the lieutenant governor's office earlier. If we don't know the results by the end of tonight, we might not know until Friday, according to spokesman Justin Lee.

County officials will count for several hours after polls close. Then they stop. Justin said that because of various election-related duties, officials would possibly not resume the count until Friday.
