So far, only New York, Maryland and Vermont have banned fracking altogether. But none of those states have anything close to the reserves of Colorado, which is among the top six states in both oil and gas production.

Folks like Gov. John Hickenlooper, a Democrat, worry about the economic fallout. Oil and gas brings in hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenue. They also say there is no science to show that the proposed rule protects health any more than the current one does.

I just voted for 112. Fracking appears to be an industry like nuclear. That could be have a positive impact on climate change (replacing coal) and on local economy. But that is unable to regulate itself. So, it must end. That's what you get for abusing the commons.
