2/7 JavaScript is *not* a great language for beginners because of cruft, legacy… but let say the beginner is into creating art with their computer? Then playing with online editor is a great way to have fun coding. It’s instant to set up and share. editor.p5js.org

4/7 It's so fun to code with @livecodeIab that I even used it to generate videos for AR lenses!

This Lens is based on a small generative code sketch created during a session teaching to my design students, using the super fun live coding web-based toy language @livecodelab

6/7 For a pure beginner, I would dare to say that the choice of first language might be inconsequential. Everything is new, and everything is fuzzy. Give them the bare minimum to achieve the first goal they have.

7/7 If you teach programming or coach a pure beginner, don’t hesitate to switch the language and the tooling for the next project they want to do.

1/7 From my experience creating creative code workshops for children, design students and communication students, there’s not really a "good language for beginners", there’s nice and fun starting projects, and from that the language choice can follow. twitter.com/davidbrunelle/
