2/7 JavaScript is *not* a great language for beginners because of cruft, legacy… but let say the beginner is into creating art with their computer? Then playing with online editor is a great way to have fun coding. It’s instant to set up and share. editor.p5js.org

6/7 For a pure beginner, I would dare to say that the choice of first language might be inconsequential. Everything is new, and everything is fuzzy. Give them the bare minimum to achieve the first goal they have.

7/7 If you teach programming or coach a pure beginner, don’t hesitate to switch the language and the tooling for the next project they want to do.
