After Pelosi told reporters earlier "I don't see any reason" to meet with WH officials again on budget/debt limit, she spoke by phone w Mnuchin for 20 minutes this afternoon, per her spox, "in their continuing efforts to find common ground." Another call scheduled for tomorrow

Three things, here. 1. She lied to reporters/public 2. She's reaching out to a man who defied a congressional subpoena and refusing to hold him in contempt proceedings 3. She comes across as desperate to strike a deal which leaves her no leverage (See humanitarian aid bill)

What’s the point anyway. Trump walks out of meetings with Dems before they begin. McConnell is the grim reaper blocking House bills and they are refusing to turn over docs plus blocking testimony. I don’t blame her They need to impeach now
