People: I overheard this 1 conversation. It’s anecdotal. I didn’t do a poll. Just interesting to hear 2 women almost reflexively rejecting a v serious charge. This is who Trump meant last nite when he said women backed Kavanaugh “more than anybody would understand.”

I am not with either, because I don’t have enough facts to go on. But I am appaled at the usual garbage being hurled at any woman who comes forward about sexual assault. The response is always the same, if she reports it 36 years after or the next day.

To quote another post “What’s more likely: That a woman lied to her therapist in 2012 about a sexual assault so that one day she might be able to upend her life & reputation should Kavanaugh be tapped for SCOTUS? Or that he did it?”
My gosh, yes. I took that comment and shared.
It says a lot about the degradation of our values and attitudes when middle-aged citizens dismiss sexual assault as just “teenage pranks” or “boys will be boys”. The trauma and pain inflicted on victims are real and last for years.
Their age has nothing to do with their dismissal of her claims. I’m guessing their political affiliation has more to do with it—and where they get their news. As you can see from this thread, there are many of us who are close to that age or above who believe the allegations.
