But isn't the toothpaste out of the tube? I mean, we all know what we saw and heard already. By the way, any readout of the private meeting Mr Trump had with Mr Putin? Do we know what they discussed? If not, Mr Pompeo is just doing PR for his boss.

Without alignment from Trump (which doesn’t exist), Pompeo’s words are window dressing. Perhaps better than nothing, but if so, only barely. Plus anything could be contradicted by a Trump tweet five min later. Until trump is gone it hard to imagine how we regain any credibility.

Not accepting that Crimea is merely showing they are not subservient to the Kremlin's every whim & desire. Holding them accountable would see more sanctions or other measures to further isolate Russia
