You guys are seriously devaluing The NY Times brand in attempting to delude the public into thinking there's some righteous, journalistic reason for not engaging in the simple exercise of calling Trump on his lies every damn time. It's really not that complicated a task with him

If saying the actual word lie is too difficult for this generation of American mainstream journalism, than perhaps at least articulate when Trump and his staff lie (daily), that his and their statements don’t support the actual facts at hand and give a brief explanation of why.

Maybe you should listen to the concerns of the readers vs. searching for statements that support your view point and a fellow condescending colleague

More nonsense. If, as journalists, you are incapable of distinguishing truth from lies and reporting accordingly, then it’s time to find another line of work. You’d rather defend the indefensible rather than take a moment or two to reflect. That’s incredibly weak.
