This is a good question & a conversation/debate that I don’t believe can productively be had on Twitter. Why pin it all on one reporter who happens to be high-profile & engage on this platform? Seems unfair both to the legit issues being raised & to her
I can’t speak for the Internet but I’m not pinning it on one reporter. Some though have more impact, including all of you at NYT & doubly those also on TV. I get the challenge of regularly calling a president a liar. But he is. And it underpins everything. That’s on him, not you

What cost access? There is no good side to Trump. I think readers want to hold him to the fire. Trump denies disputes facts. In fact seems all facts are called fake. But conspiracies, he embraces. Doesn't care about policy, only his own wealth and power. And to help Putin.

Philippe is pinning it on the entire media, of which you are a member. Doesn't need discussion. Answer the question to yourself, about yourself, and if there is a gap, vow to do better because our country depends on media telling truth to power for its survival.
