Don't know what you mean and didn't want to sound rude. I simply do not understand what things move to LF if e.g. the valhalla team is working for mapbox. Are the registered trademarks like mapzen, valhalla moving to LF?

sorry, bad joke. But yes copyright of the code that was written at mapzen. And the Linux Foundation knows how to manage, for example, donations and creating governance which could come in very handy going forward
