Never going to happen. I posted a thread last Friday about the Constitution on impeachment trials: the Chief Justice replaces the VP as presiding officer of the Senate, which is very different from a trial judge. A presiding officer can't declare a mistrial.

I'm curious what you think of Glenn Kirschner's suggestion that House Manager Schiff could call for a mistrial in the impeachment trial on the grounds that defense leader Cipollone hid that he was a direct witness to the events alleged in impeachment article I.
