I'd need only one of these keys, only I'd use the full word. Which one(s) would you pick?

You've been quoted in my story "A twitter repartee on protein conservation"

Bottomline, I wanted to know whether the core is conserved because of natural selection 6/n.

If the core is conserved to maintain an stable and fold that's required for activity, then I'd call that a functional reason 5/n.

Some think conservation may be to maintain structure and/or stability but wouldn't call that "functional importance" (I would) 4/n.

What's behind "Disagree"? Mainly, the ill-defined concept of "functional importance" 3/n

Results: 10 % agree, 45 % not sure, 45 % disagree with "functional importance is the cause of structural conservation of protein core." 2/n

  17. Sep 26

The poll is finished, consensus seems to be against "core is more conserved because of functional importance". 1/n.

Sorry for the photograph, looks self-centred, it's just what researchgate does when you share a question in twitter...
