That’s disappointing. I expect more from NYT
Loads of folks feel the same. And yet the @nytimes fails us all regularly.
The people pictured could not be choosing more appropriate activities or acting more safely. That's infuriating
When’s the last time you went to a crowded beach? There is no safe space on a beach like this, not at the height of summer. There is no place to move, nothing to do but stand still. Even then, people are moving near and around you. It’s impossible to control, it’s a crowd!
I banished the @nytimes from my daily life about 15 years ago and have been better-informed ever since. There are only so many hours in a day, and you gotta clear out the stupid to make room for finding better.
What is your favorite news source?
They couldn't find stock photos of a crowded bar.
This is now pure propaganda. Only thing NYT is good for now is if there’s another toilet paper shortage.
I read a similar article (maybe the online version before this print version?) where the title/pictures made it seem like beaches were the problem, but it was actually about huge indoor house parties down the shore. I feel like this is a result of all the public shaming...
i.e., people don't feel like they can gather on the beach (safer) so they have these big indoor parties (less safe but out of sight)
