If the NYTimes would've just fired Stephens and whoever hired him after he submitted his climate change denial column for publication, they wouldn't be in the position today of explaining why they had to remove a link to white supremacist pseudoscience from their website.

Yes! But, if say David Leonhardt did the same thing, fired the same day. Only rightwingers get this kind of courtesy.

I call Bullsh*t
@nytopinion, and I’m a long time, but disgusted, subscriber. The study was the lone piece of ‘evidence’ supporting the proposition of the column. This, now, makes the column wholly unsubstantiated, just racist musings. -
So does this mean Bret Stephens and the NYT editorial team are unaware of this newfangled tool called Google?

I am old enough to remember when op-eds in the
@NYTimes were researched/proofed/validated BEFORE they were printed. I also seem to remember "mistakes" like this, while extremely rare, ALWAYS resulted in loss of jobs in the ranks of the Editorial staff. Ah, those were the days... - Još 1 odgovor
