This is flippin amazing man. You guys did such amazing work on Gumball. Big fan!
Thanks!!! I'm very lucky for working with such an awesome team at Gumball, they puts so much heart into the animation. So glad you like it dude, it's great to see such positive comments. :)
Since you’re all the way out in the UK it probably isn’t obvious but I can safely say that a lot of pros in the tv animation industry over here love Gumball and have huge respect for the stuff you guys do. It’s all very inspiring!
co-signing on everything ben is saying. gumball is one of the very very few shows i still go out of my way to watch on my insanely busy schedule because you guys always manage to do things that surprise and impress me every time.
Thanks so much, man. The team puts their soul into the show it's so satisfying to know you guys enjoy it that much. :)
I remember going to a Gumball panel at the MCM comic con in London a few years back, was the first panel I'd ever gone to of anything, and it was so cool seeing the processes and how much effort goes into each stage of work. Amazing stuff.
I'm still in awe of what you guys pull off in every episode!!!
Thank you!! :) it's only possible thanks to an awesome team of extremely talented people. It's a very challenging project, it's incredible the amount of crazy things per episode that we have to animate. Some times facing a new episode is like fighting a huge blue dragon. :)
Pain is temporary. A final episode of Gumball is FOREVER.
Ah ah ah!!! Great!! I'm going to print this and put it next to me at the studio.
Say hi to @benbocquelet for me!
This is so cool! Thanks for these, guys.
Coincidentally, when we started animating "Cupcake & Dino" I made a "poppyness scale" for the anim team at @atomiccartoonspic.twitter.com/zewG170KzK
Cool!!
On Gumball do you all mostly animate on 1s? Or are there 2s thrown in there as well? I'd imagine 1s are necessary to get such a snappy feel.
We animate on 2's most of the time, we add 1's some times, for example to cushion an antic briefly, like in the example, in falling objects, contact frames for an impact, etc. But to animate fast actions i'd say it's more important to use the right spacing than inbetween on 1's
This is awesome!! Is Gumball done in Flash or Toon Boom?
The show is animated in Flash. :) Long Life to Flash!!
That's great!! And all the 3D stuff maya?
