Minimum wage should actually be ~$24/hr which would mean a minimum yearly salary of ~$48K at the low end. People debating whether $100K meets the threshold of “rich” is a reflection of how cash-starved the masses are because of the massive wealth hoarding of the owner class.

Pastor Sam Rodriguez making COVID jokes at the American Association of Christian Counselors conference right now in Orlando. "I know Delta is real - but next we'll have United and then American and then Southwest."

New report about the global expansion of anti-LGBTQ politics in East Europe. -- Liberal/radical folx, obviously moral conservatives do not take a rest when they do not have a seat in the White House. This is an ongoing trend and enlarging network that needs further scrutinization

A friend at the WSJ said this story was depressing to read and I thought "how much more depressing can media news be, really?" but yes this will absolutely make you* spiral *me also

  9. It's not just US white Christian nationalism that's at issue. Ukraine's LGBTQ are fighting to get govt. to implement EU-mandated measures, eg protections against hate crimes, and get their marriages legalized, etc. Their hopes for the new govt. are fading fast.

  10. And it's not only Ukraine where the side events reveal what's really going on. Mike Lindell's political and religious radicalization by Family insiders included pivotal talks in National Prayer Breakfast "breakout rooms," as we reported.

  11. Ordo Iuris is a theocratic, far-right, Catholic think tank in Poland. The Tweet was posted by an Ordo Iuris analyst who attended the breakfast. Here's how Politico described Ordo Iuris:

  12. Even if nothing untoward was said at the main breakfast, it's often at the side events where the masks come off. This Tweet shows Vargas at a side panel on the "defending of conservative values." (Note that hashtag: )

  13. Former Dem. Rep. Jim Slattery, a lobbyist and Family insider, was also at the event. He told me he didn't hear anything anti-LGBTQ, but also acknowledged he couldn't refute a Ukrainian activist's claim that Ukraine's LGBTQ leaders are excluded from the event, and others like it.

  14. And Ukrainian LGBTQ activists told me participation by American Democrats isn't helping. "It's bad," one said.

  15. A report by the European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights identified prayer breakfasts, including Ukraine's, as superficially innocuous... ...but also an explicit part of right-wing efforts to beat back LGBTQ and reproductive rights.

  16. We've been led to believe Congress invites guests to the National Prayer Breakfast... ...but internal Family documents we obtained show that Unguryan was listed as co-submitter for at least 29 guest names for the 2016 and 2018 National Prayer Breakfasts.

  17. Unguryan's Ukraine orgs have paid for right-wing Family insiders to travel to Ukraine, as reported a while ago. But we now know that Unguryan's ties to The Family go deeper than that...

  18. Unguryan's ties to right-wing orgs have been well-documented. He's a member of ECPM and has backed banning "homosexual propaganda" and protecting "the natural family."

  19. Over the last decade, Ukraine’s prayer breakfasts have been used to expand a growing network of right-wing, Christian orgs. Event chair Pavlo Unguryan is a member of the theocratic party, the European Christian Political Movement. This is Unguryan and Vargas (in headphones):

  20. The event was Ukraine’s National Prayer Breakfast. Vargas and cochair the House Ukraine caucus… so they might have known the event was being run by anti-LGBTQ organizers even before journalist warned them the day before:

  21. NEW: was a featured participant at an anti-LGBTQ event in Ukraine last week. It’s not clear whether Vargas, historically an LGBTQ ally, had all the facts about the event…but he has been a staunch ally of The Family. Here’s what we know:
