So making an Xcode project available along with instructions for how to build it is now a violation of the dev program agreement?

@jtamboli Where does the line get drawn, though? There are other open source apps out there you can get in Xcode project form. -
@mikeash The line is drawn when someone uses Apple's tools. The other apps just haven't gotten caught yet. -
@jtamboli So every open source iOS app violates the rules? If so, the rules are insane. - View other replies

@mikeash I was planning to put my app@bannerhunterapp (which Apple rejected) on GitHub - now I don't know if I'm allowed to… :| -
@kuba_suder@mikeash@bannerhunterapp I don't see how Apple can have anything against you open sourcing your app. Try it :) -
@czechboy0@mikeash if I open source it and say "sorry, Apple rejected it, here's how you can install it", that's pretty much what flux did… - View other replies

@kuba_suder@czechboy0 Then that can be one project, separate from the open source stuff, which you can just post as "educational" - View other replies

@mikeash@kuba_suder a@cocoapods plugin might be a good format for that, actually. /cc@NeoNacho - View other replies
