We need a forward-thinking two-state solution that works for both Israel and Palestine. President Trump’s proposal will not help promote a lasting peace in the Middle East.

President Trump’s plan does not respect Palestinian rights and needs, and it encourages Israel to pursue unilateral actions, such as annexation of the West Bank, that make a negotiated two-state solution even harder. The plan is a recipe for sustained conflict, not peace.
