Sometimes you just never know who reads your blogs/tweets. One of the most innovative developers I followed was James Strachan . I was in complete surprise when the one time we met that he said he read my blog that was about software engineering.

This is your regular reminder that, if you provide a minimal executable example of your problem, an OSS maintainer is 3000% more likely to help you.

hermit is a really nice solution for setting up specific versions of developer tools in any git repository which also works great in GitHub Actions & Jenkins cashapp.github.io/hermit/ with the shell integration just ‘cd’ to a directory to setup your PATH. Same tool versions FTW 🎉

Having fun with #observability #tracing for #gitops: in you can now see "gitops traces", with the lifecycle of the different pull requests, to help you understand the promotion process. Powered by and github.com/jenkins-x/ligh

I just wrote a blog post on the importance of Continuous Integration in the context of a #gitops workflow: why it's not common enough, the impacts, and how we can improve this situation.

That's really interesting. I've always seen this in the lights of a management cluster "pattern", e.g. as described by CAPI: cluster-api.sigs.k8s.io/user/concepts.
JenkinsX solves this more decentralized by setting up each cluster with its own operator watching is own repo via jx, correct?

I can't overstate how awesome is...
First from sciencing the shit out of software delivery with Accelerate.
Then doing it again for developer productivity with the SPACE framework.
And also being an awesome role model & advocate🙌(saving this story for cdcon)

It also side-steps the usual hassle in corporate environments in getting the required permissions to do this on your local dev setup. I keep telling the devs it's not practical/useful to test locally.
