      Since Dems have done nothing to fix the economy for ordinary people, this result is overdue: http://www.ianwelsh.net/two-charts-on-why-the-obama-economy-sucks/ …

      @iwelsh @dan_ps So, Repugs will raise wages for all Americans?

      @flipsville @dan_ps I'm pretty sure I didn't make that argument.

      @iwelsh That's why so many Americans are not "feeling" the improved economy. Their wages have not increased & in fact many have dropped.

      .@flipsville Yes, and after 6 years of not feeling better, they're willing to try the GOP. "They'll be EVEN worse" is not a good argument.

      @iwelsh @flipsville Wages have stagnated for decades, that's not a new phenomenon. Hardly Obama's fault.

        @jspoupart @flipsville they stagnated more under him, and he had a window to change it and didn't. His policies made it worse.

          @jspoupart @flipsville or, to put it less politely, bullshit.

          @iwelsh @flipsville It's not like he didn't have a divided party, and mainly a demented opposition to deal with. I don't excuse him, though.

          .@jspoupart @flipsville Argument does not hold. In things where Obama needed no agreement from Congress, he still did the reactionary thing.

          .@iwelsh @flipsville I understand what you mean. Here's Scott Lemieux on the Thomas Frank piece from 2 weeks ago. http://www.lawyersgunsmoneyblog.com/2014/10/real-hard-headed-political-analysis-pretends-united-states-congress-doesnt-exist …

          @jspoupart @flipsville That's an argument that Obama is a blazing success. He's not. How much did Obamacare reduce the uninsured JS?

        6. J-S Poupart ‏@jspoupart 6 Nov 2014

          @iwelsh @flipsville The ACA is far from perfect, but it's a start. The number of uninsured was reduced. Lemme find the data.

          @jspoupart @flipsville The ACA is a method to subsidize private insurance companies and was written as such.

          .@iwelsh @flipsville I know. I wanted Single Payer, or at least a Public Option. Reality is that ACA reduced uninsured and has real benefits

          @jspoupart @iwelsh Agreed. And millions of middle class jobs have disappeared because of technology. The job my mom had for 15 is gone.

          Tech, outsourcing, decline in union representation, stagnant wages, lack of adequate pensions, cuts in social services. @flipsville @iwelsh
