Excited to share our work showing L1 top-down input controls learning in S1, possibly through dendritic mechanism. It was a collaborative work with amazing people including GuyDoron, , , .

Since I moved to English speaking environment I started to have thoughts in English not in Korean. Amazed to find out some people don't use language at all to think!

Whisker stimuli have *opposite* effects on membrane potential in L1 interneurons, depending upon whether paired with optogenetic stimulation. How can that be? Led by , great collaboration with Anne Takesian and labs.

Our first paper on sub-cellular cortical function in realistic-ish navigation behavior: We simultaneously imaged dendrites and their somas in retrosplenial cortex while mice walked around and rotated freely despite 'head fixation' during 2-photon imaging.

Animals used in scientific research in 1 year = animals eaten by humans in 1 day = animals killed by cats in 2 w.e. Scientists use animals with care and parsimony, and only when no alternative is available. We still cannot move forward without them, there is too much at stake.

Just submitted our new automated meta-analysis tool for publication: I think that the tool is super useful. I dread that it might not be deemed neurosciency enough by peer review. In the mean time, use it to do good science!
