Decided, with staying at home, to repaint the house. 7 gallons of paint in 2 weeks mostly on weekends and evenings. Coming out alright.

I had people crashing in my apartment arrested after police directed a march into a restricted area. Arrests were thrown out but night in jail. Imagine consequences of that in pandemic

Hate seeing this repeat and furious that people are encouraging violence against pain.

I saw the WTO on the streets and no idea who hit stores but majority was peaceful. News only covered violent minority. We have to change this repeating narrative

For the first time in months, traffic is backed up on i5 in seattle. Sadly shutdown from protesters. After WTO haven’t been in protests. How do we change the system?

Walking on Bannon Street this morning and kept seeing large groups with red clothing. Realized they were all from who had their IPO today.

Not sure the FBI starting criminal side is right thing for the investigation on 737 Max Suspect this will lead to less understanding and improvement.

Everyone involved with software needs to think this through and internalize. How many times do we use data available instead of pushing for correct input? How many times do we change limits without thinking through consequences

The 737 Max certification is disturbing. Single sensor, >3x input with no max (full authority), and zero thought of elevator input remaining for pilot. This isn’t a correct safety analysis and wonder what else was missed

Having been involved with 737-700/800/600 certifications and many other systems, I’m concerned on implications of 737 Max crashes and the lack of design or certification testing on system. Hoping article is wrong or safety is getting worse.

Kind of humerous to see the HN article on tweet IDs today and suggest the author read the code or variants of it out there... the trick in the document is core to the algorithm as designed...

I"n managing workload there are only four coping strategies: (1) shed load, (2) do all components but do each less thoroughly, thereby, consuming fewer resources, (3) shift work in time to lower workload periods, (4) recruit more resources." (Woods and Hollnagel, 2006)

Thought exercise: locate an event that is deemed widely to be a *success* in your organization, and then look for the single "root cause" of that success. You will include this "root cause" in a company-wide report, so make sure it's specific enough to defend and support.
