    "this doesn't seem optimal, why's it like this?" -> work out if it's a design or execution issue. If execution, just fix it & you'll likely find the benefit cascades to fix other stuff too. If design, yr 'fix' will v possibly damage other stuff to extent you worsen things overall

    I think people don't pay enough attention to the distinction between design & execution, & sometimes get confused because of this. 'Flaws' in a design are often choices among tradeoffs, & so correlate negatively; flaws in execution are just mistakes & will correlate positively

    If I've not replied to yr tweet, it's likely bc it's esp interesting & I'm still working out what I think abt it & how to compress tht into a tweet. This is true regrdless the delay length. My mind is buzzing w/ stuff from months/yrs ago I still wanna reply to. This is not a joke

    Not good args: - "I can imagine an intelligent entity that isn't conscious." We can imagine many impossible things! - "Consciousness is poorly understood." Sure, but given that, it seems hard to confidently weigh against the "intelligence necessitates consciousness" model.

    "Ah, that's a common misconception. Actually there's no reason to think intelligence implies consciousness! We mean a super*intelligent* AI, NOT necessarily a conscious one. Would it be conscious? Who knows!" I hear this often, don't recall hearng good arg for it. Whats the arg?

    Given all words have origins in languages of other cultures, those who think "cultural appropriation' is generically wrong & something to get upset about should probably consider inventing from scratch their own language that nobody else can understand, and speaking only in that.
