Epileptics in the US ration a lot. I've turned down CT scans when my head was bleeding. I woke up from a seizure in time to ask medics to take me off the stretcher. I've taken cabs while seizing in the backseat because I couldn't afford an ambulance. It's part of our lifestyle.

In the United States, we have rationing too. But it's further out of sight. It's not done by the government. It's done by parents, standing outside emergency rooms, too scared to bring their sick kids inside for fear of a major bill.

History repeats itself. Today the Supreme Court reinstated the same immigration policy that kept Jewish refugees out during the Holocaust: 'public charge', banning immigrants who don’t have money. On . Racist then, racist now.

“Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free” Retweet if your immigrant ancestors wouldn’t be let in if this means tested immigration policy was in place then.

If you support the Supreme Court decision saying only wealthy immigrants should come here you better not ever eat in a restaurant ever again.

Facial recognition presents a chilling threat to our privacy and civil liberties—especially when evidence shows this technology is less accurate when used on people of color, and transgender, non-binary and non-conforming people. I'm introducing new legislation to ban it in NY.

If your police department starts talking about purchase of a "predictive policing" system--and they likely will--just say, "NO." In Chicago, use of one of these was cancelled after eight years of racially-biased outcomes and lies about data sharing. /via /

At 2am today, I woke up & found I had lost most of the hearing in my left ear. A startling occurrence to be certain. After doing some googling, every article indicated that this is a bad thing. And that I should seek medical attention. So, I started looking for urgent cares 1/?

Should Twitter have to ban tweets in support of immigration? We don’t think so, but a federal law poses this serious risk. Along with , , and , we're asking the Supreme Court to find it unconstitutional.

Congratulations to Devin Nunes for reaching the point in his political career in which he sends a frivolous subpoena for someone's DMs and, within half an hour, the recipient has been hooked up with one of the best free speech lawyers in the country by way of an anonymous cow.

Illinois Governor Pritzker today signed a bill to cap insulin costs for patients at $100 a month. (Notably the bill doesn't actually lower the price of insulin, just requires insurers to pick up more of the cost and shield patients)
