For anyone who guessed an area that is clearly in the middle of water I think we should be legally required to take away their driver's licenses.

But seriously: Nearly every news story about Iran (in writing and on TV) includes a regional map. There's just no excuse for not being able to accurately locate it.
In the 1980s, I would give my first-year journalism students a global map quiz. They got much of it right. But many, probably a majority, could not locate #Vietnam. Many guessed the wrong continent entirely. #IranAttacks #IranWar
I heard of some people that think that Alaska is an island because on the weather map is shown separately from the 48 contiguous states.
