Hey #NCAT this is Spencer brown, a tennis player at Appalachian state. During our match today, along with other racist comments, Spencer told me, “At least I know my dad.” Their coach responded by saying, “..we have a black guy on our team.”

No,@appstatesports doesn’t condone this type of behavior.That’s why they suspended the athlete indefinitely.This student’s actions do not reflect the values that the athletic department tries to instill in us as soon as we arrive on campus.I’m sorry for this kids hurtful comments

No one really has proof, which is why suspending Spencer indefinitely is unfair. By that logic, ANYONE can make an accusation to get back at the player who beat them in a match
