There should be a rule that even as a science writer, you're not allowed to cover this topic if you haven't at least run the most basic quantum algorithms on a real QC (VQE/QAOA, whatever). Smh

Careful with definitions. He might have run the visual Grover ansatz on IBM Q experience and got this idea from that. A 5 year old could do it. Dil fridges on everyone’s ears! Yay.

I wonder how many of the companies working on QC now will suffer the fate of RIM/BlackBerry? In other words, dominant now, but completely eclipsed by some emerging, more popular technology.

May be hype/ expectation in 2020s, but I'd be surpised if we see real-world use cases by 2030. First we need sufficiently many entangled qubits, get error rates down, algos to reliably extract solutions from superpositions. And problem needs to be stated in very algebraic way.

Le quantique sera révolutionnaire certainement, mais lentement. Mais peut-être pas autant que les smartphones.

We are still about 10 years away from real quantum computing. AI would be a better bet.
