My hope this #Juneteenth is that we can continue the work to understand how slavery, colonialism, and racism impact the lives of Black people today. Those stories can make the case for reparations, restoring dignity, and fostering racial healing.

#MacFellow Thomas Wilson Mitchell is a great example: he uncovered stories of Black landownership and land loss, and drafted legal protections to help more families avoid involuntary disposition of their real estate.
