Time to face it: When Conservative govern... Canadians die.
Cutting regulations = reducing citizen protections

"But it's sexy," Ms. Raitt said. "Radioactive leaks. Cancer." "This is like a death by a thousand cuts. Or should I say cold cuts." When told about a new death in Prince Edward Island, Gerry Ritz said: "Please tell me it's [Liberal MP] Wayne Easter."

This omnibus bill is a shameful
@fordnation attempt to make it easier for wealthy@OntarioPCParty donors to remain wealthy at the expense of health, labour and environmental checks-and-balances put in place for GOOD REASON. He’s only interested in the rich, folks.#ONpoli - 1 more reply

I remember Walkerton!

I remember Mike Harris dismantled many Ontario regulations & safety measures calling it "cutting red tape & bureaucracy" incl. reducing clean water inspections. This lead directly to Walkerton poisoning. I'm appalled that Doug Ford is reintroducing same dangerous laws

Might help if you explain that they died because an alcoholic was in charge of the testing and the union protected him
-
Might be a good idea for you to base your statements on fact. The Walkerton Inquiry clearly identified government cutbacks as a factor. If you're interested in facts you can find them here http://www.archives.gov.on.ca/en/e_records/walkerton/report1/index.html#summary …
-
It was originally blamed on that, especially with the help of the media and later the truth came out. Had the drunk not been in charge it would not have happened is the bottom line. read up. some us are old enough to remember living through it
-
Maybe the drunk wouldn't have been in charge if there was a proper system of checks and a requirement and funding for fully qualified people in the position?????
-
Nope. He was still in charge and faking tests before funding cuts. In fact they talked about alcohol being part of the work culture and the office fridge always having beers stocked for lunch all the way up until 1998!
-
I'll stick with the facts as outlined in the inquiry findings rather than someone on Twitter cherry picking information to fit their own narrative.
-
Those are the facts. You are the 1 cherry picking the report to ignore main cause: the person in charge of testing the water safety never did so and then falsified the reports to pretend he did and it had been going on long before Harris ever came to powerhttps://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/walkerton-water-tests-were-faked-official-says/article25575344/ …

Yup, noting to do with this! smh...https://www.muskokaregion.com/news-story/3598931-brothers-charged-in-walkerton-water-tragedy/ …

No reason to fear the 'Clean Water Act' unless developers know they'll possibly be tampering with clean water.

Is Bill 66 really stepping back. Why would anyone break the rules and proper safety procedures for financial gain at the cost to human health and well being?
-
Is this a real question? Corporations and businesses have been doing that for generations for MONEY.
