@kasefiles Do you have legal authority for why your office provided such contact info to @radleybalko but not the public, or did something else happen here? See Gov Code 6254.5. If the public can't have it, shouldn't individual reporters also not receive it from your office?

Just as when City Attorney Herrera released apparently confidential material to a reporter, I will be issuing a series of questions that Boudin must now answer under Admin Code 67.22. Selective disclosure of info to public is WRONG.

Ms. Lee claims "express permission to share" info. In the thread, I see potential permission re: the victim, but not the now-redacted witness. Gov Code 6254.5 does not appear to differentiate between providing that info to one reporter vs the remainder.

While there appears to be no mention of explicit permission to share the witness info in the thread, Ms. Lee also claims to have such permission. Again, how that defeats Gov Code 6254.5 is unclear. Disclosure to one outside the City, must be disclosure to all.

This is amazing - Under the Welfare and Institutions Code, the contents of a minor’s police report, including the names of witnesses and victims, is confidential! How could they possibly justify this leak to

Under Welfare & Institutions Code 827 - any information pertaining to a juveniles case file (here the defendant is a juvenile) is confidential. Very strict procedure to go through to disclose any info. Consent from the victim or witness is NOT enough. I’ll link the code section

Thanks for the information. I've filed appeals with the SOTF and Supervisor of Records already.
