An activist announces that the cops have decided to intercept the march. They're waiting just down the street While the march holds tight and figures out next steps, the activist encourages everyone to get loud and they do. Chant: Black Lives Matter

"hey, people in your houses, your neighbors are getting beaten out here every night! What are you doing about it?" "We are all very tired. We are asking for one night from you. One hour!"

The Black activist on the megaphone, who redirected the protest away from the waiting cops, takes a moment to remind the crowd to stay tight and take care of each other. Leave no one behind I really like the energy tonight

I especially like the acknowledgement of exhaustion So often people say, we aren't tired, try to get the crowd to say it too, get mad if they don't say it loud enough The truth is the protesters are all so tired. Bone-weary They carry on anyway, and that should be celebrated

A call for shields to the front. The march takes its time, gets ready, gets tight before advancing further

DJ LRAD claims they've seen criminal activity, specifically throwing projectiles This simply has not happened. There has been nothing but marching tonight. There have been no confrontations They announce that the overpass is closed and encourage protesters to leave

Y’all were right outside my house stopped for 5 minutes. Chanting. Oh and someone came up and said hi while I was on my front porch. Pretty sure that’s not criminal activity.
