Dr. Amanda Alexander is the director of Detroit Justice Center. They are part of the movement to push back on Wayne County building a new jail which is being pushed by Dan Gilbert, who wants to buy the property one of the current jails is on for real estate development. #lp2019
She described a community in GA that has, through reform measures, reduced their jail population from 600 to 100 and now is in discussion about what it would look like to *close their jail* 
& transform the building into a center for healing. #lp2019
Commonwealth Attorney Stephanie Morales discusses her struggle of working w/in a system where she prosecutes people who are struggling to get by. She is working to make sure her office is treating people with respect & compassion while they work to reform the system. #lp2019
