1. When #Beijing insists on ramming through an unpopular & sweeping #nationalsecuritylaw that imperils HK’s autonomy, @SecPompeo just announced visa bans on #CCP officials responsible for undermining #HK’s autonomy and human rights.
2. Since the draconian law is directly imposed by Beijing, without any respect for #hongkongers' will, #Beijing should be held accountable for the swift erosion of HK’s autonomy & freedoms, from #policebrutality, vanishing judicial independence and prevalent political censorship.
3. This is the first sanction using #HongKongHumanRightsAndDemocracyAct that was passed last year. I believe today’s visa restriction should be just the beginning.
