4/ Last week China's state mouthpieces Global Times, CCTV and China News just lied to the public by claiming that the virus has been widely spread in Italy even before Wuhan's outbreak. The government also said that China donated masks to Italy for free.
5/ Through misinformation and fake news, China tramples upon other nation's dignity, threatens other's safety with cover-ups and lies, and even put the sincerity of its government aid into doubt.
6/ Beyond any doubt, China is now leveraging masks for political influence. And insincere generosity has a price. Last year Chinese embassy just openly criticized Italian parliamentarians for holding meetings to support HK, more like treating Italy as another province of China.
7/ Quartz today reported that China is now buying up Italy. If the Italian government fails to guard the nation against China's autocratic ambitions, the consequence of losing sovereignty and autonomy will be more disastrous.
