Country Not an ally with mainland China
Try looking into Uvex for masks, they supply face masks where I work. Not sure what the safety qualifications are on them, or if they’re medical-grade, but still worth a try.
This is just as an advice. Stocks are running out in Australia as well, but there are potentially stock available around the world for "expired" surgical mask that is marketed for hospital use. I cannot find any articles on the internet that DOES NOT recommend using expired..
Surgical masks will not protect you. For protection from viruses you need higher protection level of masks.
And it is not just happening in Hk. Even America is in the lack of that. Most of medical masks are imported from Mainland China. If you guys want to get masks, ask for the Beijing government or Taiwan(seems enough stock there, but not sure if they’re generous.)
