Sadly it may come to this.. The ccp cannot be persuaded by appeals to moral authority or reasoning.. Cannot be restrained by rule of law and is deaf to the collective voice of the public..

Maybe the Ccp is more vulnerable than she wants to admit. China is fighting a (cold ) war with the US and to win, or at least not to lose, China needs foreign allies. To get those, she should look stable and just. A Tianammen incident wouldn't help.
