Yep. And we'll just tweet our outrage and disgust. What we really need to do is take over DC with our bodies. No permit? No problem. Just go. Tough out the batons and tear gas. But wait - I have a job and bills to pay. And so it goes.

May I submit that this is a reason why getting behind any one Dem candidate early will hurt, not help Dems. Counterintuitively 3-4 plausible candidates going into a convention will make it harder for Trump to focus all attention on a single opponent until fairly late.

I’m old enough to remember when Trump was roundly criticized prior to the last election for suggesting that it might be rigged in Clinton’s favor.

Clinton’s exact words at the time: “Let’s be clear about what he is saying and what that means. He is denigrating — he is talking down our democracy. And I am appalled that someone who is the nominee of one of our two major parties would take that position.”
