If Trump knows he committed crimes being investigated by Mueller, in which Justin Kennedy was implicated, he knows he would have one less vote on the Supreme Court should it be asked to rule on any related matter. He is packing the court to block his criminal prosecution.

But Ladder Capital loaned money to Trump which in turn sold the loans to banks. mostly Wells Fargo, who securitized them. The son of Trump's long time CFO, Allen Weisselberg, Jack, is a Ladder director overseeing loans.
