Is anyone ever going to ask which law requires this? They claim it over and over again and I haven’t seen a single law cited.

There is no law that requires immigrant families to be separated. The decision to charge everyone crossing the border with illegal entry, nd the decision to charge asylum seekers in criminal court rather than waiting to see if they qualify for asylum decisions the Trump has made.

Exactly right. Thank you. Why isn’t the media pointing this out every day?https://twitter.com/roqplanas/status/1007332306724511744?s=21 …

Give them some slack, it’s hard to navigate the layers of stupidity of this WH.

"It is biblical to enforce the law." If only the SS would've thought of that defense at Nuremberg.

Studied CC camps in post-grad and can say Dachau (the 1st camp) started much like this. It was only for political prisoners "who broke the law." They even gave tours and had a gift shop to show how humane it was. It happens in small, normalizing steps while we're living our livespic.twitter.com/axTGTRDoxi

The Bible should NEVER be involved or referenced in conversation addressing U.S. law or policy. I'm deeply offended by the entire conversation. (The Bible is a loosely woven text of war stories, crime stories, impossibly good morality, impossibly bad morality... and fairy tales.)

@PressSec I don't have a degree from a backwater Baptist college, but I do know that Jesus said, "Whatever you do to the least of these, you do to me also." -
Yes, that's why it's wrong for the parents to do what they're doing. They don't have to invade a sovereign foreign nation with their children in tow, but they choose to. How horribly thoughtless of them.

This is really getting out of hand. I mean what the hell is happening? And why wasn’t the question “why is atty gen sessions defending a government policy by citing the Bible?”...because that’s the first question we should all have.

@PressSec You keep lying and it’s not working. The Democrats do not have a majority in Congress. The Republicans do. You know this. Everyone knows this. Democrats are not responsible for Trump’s evil policy, not law, of taking babies and children from their immigrant parents.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
