Did most men really have more frequent sex in the 1950s?? I feel like that was probably not the case.

Can believe sex was more evenly distributed. Less 'incels' or whatever theyre called. Less total sex due to reduced promiscuity

But what about the median person? Did they have more frequent sex, or less? I bet less but I don't know.

Don't know either but guess that broadly even given these wash out: - reduced overall promiscuity - very uneven distribution today means that median still cops a loss, need to be top quartile to start winning

I bet you that's wrong, I bet the median, or even the 25th percentile, has more frequent sex now than in the 1950s.

Maybe, but this kind of analysis makes me think we may underrate the power law distribution today:https://medium.com/@worstonlinedater/tinder-experiments-ii-guys-unless-you-are-really-hot-you-are-probably-better-off-not-wasting-your-2ddf370a6e9a …

Oh, but wouldn't you say most sex is between people in relationships, and therefore this isn't that relevant? I mean, I don't think most of the sex being had by most people is Tinder hookup sex.

But today you have a bottom [20%] who are never in relationships whereas that was a lot lower then

But you have to figure some percent of those relationships were sexless, and maintained for economic and/or respectability reasons.

Yes but those would be constant today also. Economic pressures to partner would even be greater today! The real question is what is the % of involuntarily sexless people now - lot higher now I would think

Luckily, there is some data so we can have a better idea than just incel hunches:https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1802108/ …
