An incredibly short-sighted move on the @WGAWest's part. There is currently no way for a game writer to become a full-fledged WGA member, so if their excuse is not enough studios are signatories or working with union writers, well...

The best game writers (w/o prior film or tv credits) can do is join the "video game writer's caucus," which for $100/yr gets you 0 benefits, but access to their screenings (LA only, in rush hour), the WGA quarterly mag, & eligibility for a WGA Award-- wait, scratch that last one.
Look forward to seeing Fallen Order, COD:MW, Gears 5, Sunless Skies, NeoCab, Heaven's Vault, Sea of Solitude, Trover, Hypnospace Outlaw, Observation, Outer Worlds/Wilds, Telling Lies, & others nominated for awards by people who respect & understand narrative in our medium.
