Hey Josh, thanks for the work. The numbers that he's used are in the format of a Canadian Forces service number, and the wording about him being a "private recruit" and wishing to speak to a sgt. suggest a familiarity (but obviously not necessarily membership) with the military.pic.twitter.com/M1EUO3OP0G
-
So you might take a look to see if he failed in an application to the forces?
-
Is this something he could just know from being into military video games
-
Good question, not sure. I don't know if the Americans (who I imagine make up the majority of subjects in military gaming) use the same format for their serial numbers that we do for our service numbers.

We will likely find out from Alek himself whether or not that post is legit before all is said and done.

What are the names beside the picture? Why is the name Mohammed conveniently placed there?pic.twitter.com/yT9PQREzmQ
-
It’s from his high school yearbook cbc said this am, there’s a Mohammed not pictured in the said frame
-
Thanks! Wonder why it is necessary to show the names.

-
They probably should’ve blurred the other names...cheers

Agreed that the message writer has at least some familiarity with CAF terminology and Service Numbers. Could have been a reservist or otherwise at one point.
